Brookline was created with the extension of the railroad. A post office was established and named Brookline Station.
The Brookline Fire Association was formed to provide fire protection to the Village of Brookline and other unincorporated areas of Greene and Christian Counties.

A Training Facility was built to house Ladder 1 and to provide storage for training props.
The first career firefighter was hired for Brookline FPD and was assigned to work Monday through Friday from 08:00 to 17:00.
The first paid Fire Chief was appointed in the District.
Complete interior renovation of Station 1, including updated offices, training/community room, and the addition of a residential space with 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, and living area. Voters approved a Tax Levy to increase staffing levels; full-time career staff were hired, adding 1 Battalion Chief, 3 Captains, and 6 Firefighters.
2 Battalion Chief and 3 Firefighter positions were added, assigning 5 personnel to all shifts.
